The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 Training

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires that, Asbestos Awareness training is given to all employees whose work could forseeably expose them to asbestos. In particular, it should be given to all demolition workers and those workers in the refurbishment and allied trades where it is foreseeable that their work will disturb the fabric of the building.

CMT 59 - Asbestos Awareness Management & Control - The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, together with the HSC Approved Code of Practice places duties on occupiers, managers and contractors to be aware of both the potential risks with asbestos containing material and to be able to manage the risk. This course takes candidates through the process of initial identification through to disposal of the material.
CMT 77 - Asbestos Awareness, to include safe working procedures with non-licensable asbestos containing materials - The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, together with the HSC Approved Code of Practice requires that if you work with any of the following occupations and are working in buildings built or refurbished prior to 2000 that formal training requires to be provided. Heating and ventilations engineers, carpenters and joiners, roofing contractors, plasterers, fire and burglar alarm installers, gas fitters, general maintenance staff such as caretakers, cable layers, electricians, demolition workers, shop fitters, computer installers, telecommunications engineers, building surveyors. This course provides an understanding of where asbestos may be present, how to recognise possible sources and how to follow safe work procedures to minimise exposure. The course is suitable for all tradesmen, manual workers, team leaders and supervisors.
CMT 89 - Asbestos Refresher - For persons undertaking removal of licensed asbestos containing materials and requiring updating of their training in accordance with the conditions of their licence This course meets the requirements of refresher training in accordance with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and is also suitable for scaffolding contractors who hold or who are obtaining an HSE asbestos licence.
