Memberships and Associations

MSM Safety Management Services are members of the following organisations associated generally with health and safety both in construction and in some cases, occupational health and safety.

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

As a leading international body for health and safety professionals, IOSH is working to:

  • Ensure that people are at the heart of health and safety
  • Become the definitive voice for health and safety at work
  • Champion pragmatic, sensible risk management
  • Encourage research and share knowledge
  • Advance high professional standards

MSM Safety Management Services is a registered training provider for the IOSH courses, Working Safely, Managing Safely and Directing Safely for small and medium sized enterprises.

CITB Construction Skills

The mission of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is to promote and facilitate the training of sufficient people in the skills needed for a world-class construction industry. Its strategic objectives are:

  • To identify training requirements and to set and monitor occupational standards for craft, operative, technical, supervisory and management staff.
  • To promote progress towards a qualified workforce through systems of recognised qualifications and schemes for recording training achievements, throughout the working life.
  • To play a part in encouraging suitable people to enter – and remain in – the construction industry.
  • To encourage, advise on, facilitate and help industry to provide:
    • sufficient numbers of trained craft, operative, technical, supervisory and management staff, in anticipation of its future needs
    • training arrangements for new entrants
    • particular training for specialist occupations
  • To provide direct training where there is no satisfactory market alternative in terms of type, quality, quantity and sustainability and to minimise the cost to industry. Where this creates assets with excess capacity, the use of and value from these assets will be improved by selling services in accordance with Treasury guidance.
  • To promote training by effective use of the levy and to secure additional resources from Government and other bodies.

MSM Safety Management Services is a registered training provider for the 5 day CITB-Construction Skills Site Safety Plus - Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and Update Courses, and the 2 day Site Management Training Scheme Supervisor´s Course (SSSTS), and the 1 day Health and Safety Awareness Course.

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)

The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a leading international provider of accredited and recognised health and safety, environmental and risk management qualifications. We aim to provide a service to our customers that is characterised by quality, integrity and transparency with a commitment to growth and continual improvement.

MSM Safety Management Services is a registered training provider for the NEBOSH General and Construction Certificate courses.

Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA)

HVCA adds value to members' businesses by providing quality services, promoting excellence and shaping the commercial environment through representation and leadership.

The HVCA represents the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (hvacr) products and equipment.

HVCA members are subject to regular, third-party inspection and assessment to ensure their technical and commercial competence.

HVCA member companies benefit from access to a wide range of services which are carefully tailored to their needs, and which help them to build better and more profitable businesses.

These include commercial, legal and technical advice, health and safety guidance, an employment affairs resource, promotional and parliamentary lobbying support and an infrastructure for education and training.

The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)

The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) will strive to provide its members with support and information to help them practice and promote the highest professional standards in risk and safety management in the workplace.

The Institute will also continually endeavour to enhance the reputation of its members and to champion the cause of the risk, safety and health management profession.

The Association for Project Safety (APS)

The Association for Project Safety (a Registered Company, Limited by Guarantee) provides a forum for all those individuals, organisations and relevant authorities involved in the supervision, management and education of health and safety practices, processes and procedures in the undertaking of construction projects as defined in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 [CDM2007] in order to develop, set and advance standards of excellence together with relevant support and educational services.

As a multi-disciplinary, advisory and representative body, the Association provides clients with a central source not only of information but also of practitioners who, as Registered Members, satisfy the standard required of CDM 2007 with regard to demonstrating competence.


Constructionline is the UK’s register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants.

Owned and endorsed by the DTI, Constructionline is a contributor to the Rethinking Construction initiative.

We gather and assess pre-qualification information on behalf of public and private sector procurers and provide them with access to over 12,500 fully accredited suppliers free of charge. In addition, we also help contractors and consultants by reducing the need for them to fill-in pre-qualification forms for every tender and provide them with access to over 1,500 buyers.

The Construction Health and Safety Group (CHSG)

CHSG maintain the same principal aims and objectives as they did when CHSG were formed in 1952:

  • To improve occupational health in the industry.
  • To foster co-operation between government, employers and those who work in the construction industry.
  • To study the health and safety training needs of the industry.
  • To provide training in response to the identified need.

The British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is one of the world's leading occupational health, safety and environmental organisations. Their mission is to promote health, safety and environmental best practice for the benefit of society and the increase of productivity. They work hand-in-hand with the world's leading companies, developing safe systems of work.
